forget work, its all play at the end of the day

i dyed my hair black. but only so it matches my nails.

wa-la:

also, i haven't gone to school the past two days. i've been at home, detoxing. and by detoxing, i mean catching up on reading my favorite blogs (i'm looking at you, jezebel.com) and listening to take this to your grave. cleansing, eh?

chi city, chi city... I'm coming home again

sometimes I'm positive I've found everywhere I love the most in the
world and other times I just feel like moving 3,000 miles away this
instant, like the west coast could solve all my problems.

I got some really good emails from people I haven't spoken to in a while
today... that was basically the highlight of my week, which
kinda sucked.

however, I will say - graduation is fully brilliant.

i woke up today and decided to change

dear world, please go buy these cds. these people are extremely talented musicians and amazing dudes that are both close to my heart.

i drove around without a destination for about an hour today listening to tracy chapman. it was refreshing. i realized how fully excited i am about the rest of my life.

hater dudes marry hater bitches and have hater kids

my day was unproductive.

valencia has to drop off the rest of the school is for fools tour because shane has strep, so i spent a good portion of the morning answering fans with inquiries/ well wishes/ complaints about that. then i attempted to do my trig homework, gave up, and went back to sleep... something that has been notably absent in my life the past few months.

i've been listening to everyone bitch about how marc jacob's fashion week show was actually a freak show, and i'm gonna step out and say i 100% disagree. i actually think it was awesome. its a fucking RUNWAY show for crying out loud. it is supposed to be artful and creative. the pieces, while dramatic and YES, i'll admit, sometimes a tad frightening, aren't supposed to be worn out on the street. and don't even get me started on the marc by mj line. fucking BRILLIANT. oh and i need this dress so bad:

swoon.

empty like the ocean.

you know what i think the most heartbreaking thing in the world is?

giving up on the things you love.

i don't care if its some shitty band or your best friends or your job or whatever - that just bums me out more than anything... to put so much into something and then to watch it disappear and let it go. because if you loved it, it invariably meant the world to you at one time or another.

call me naive or even misanthropic because i guess both of those are true at one time or another.. but most of all i am just passionate. when i love something, i love it with 100% of my heart and nothing less. so to actually get to the point where i want to give something up always gets to me.

thnks fr vrythng.

and if you feelin' me now, then put your hands up in the sky

now that hiplog.com is officially defunct (not to mention i'm on the fast track to carpal tunnel thanks to my sidekick), i'm going to start using this blog to update the internet on my whereabouts. pretty exciting, huh?
this past sunday, i saw four year strong and i am the avalanche at the knitting factory. holy fuck, four year strong is SUCH a fucking flipout. i was seriously blown away, i was standing there watching them with my mouth open... that band is going places. i'm so stoked that the label got them, great things are ahead.

the knitting factory looks awesome. some of my fondest memories of the past two years have been there, and i don't think any other venue even compares. before the show, dinner and hangs took place at kate's joint. its listed in the emo book. need i say more?

in my never ending quest to support the record industry, today i picked up kanye's new cd, graduation. the artwork cover, designed by japanese artist takashi murakami, is fabulous. have a look for yourself:
